New CBA Ratified by JFT Membership

On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, JFT members met via Zoom to consider updates (the first in six years) to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, negotiated by JFT's bargaining team and the district. After discussion of the changes and a long question and answer period, members voted to ratify the agreement.

AFT-Wisconsin President Kim Kohlhaas on the Appointment of AFT-W VP for Higher Education Jon Shelton to the UW System Presidential Search Committee

Madison, WI - Today the UW System announced that Board of Regents President Edmund Manydeeds III has selected AFT-Wisconsin VP of Higher Education Jon Shelton as a member of the UW System Presidential Search Committee. Shelton is an Associate Professor of Democracy and Justice Studies at UW-Green Bay, and also serves as his campus’s Faculty Representative to the UW System. AFT-Wisconsin President Kim Kohlhaas responded as follows:

AFT-Maryland successfully held their 2021 Triennial Convention virtually. Although it was heartbreaking not to be together in person, the virtual convention came as close to recreating the feeling of worker solidarity and forward progression for the state federation as possible.
