Member-to-Member Mobilization

The City Union of Baltimore and AFT Healthcare-Maryland came together for a weeklong mobilization effort. Each local set out to identify potential members and turn them into full members and even more, into activists for the union. These efforts are usually done in conjunction with AFT National and this one was no different.

Pride in Education Reception

On Wednesday, June 20, from 4:30-7:30 PM, NYSUT will sponsor its 3rd annual Pride in Education Reception -- We Are One -- at The Refuge, 515 Broadhollow Rd. (Route 110) in Melville.
 

Schools Closing at 1 PM on Monday, June 18

 
Yesterday, NTU reached out to Newark Public Schools about a possible early closing today because of the expected high temperatures.  We are happy to report that this morning NPS informed us:

MCEA Retiree Meeting on Prescription Coverage

State retirees want answers, but the details from state officials seem sparse. That’s why MCEA convened a meeting among state retirees, legislators, and AFT-Maryland. President Linda Day oversaw a meeting where retirees brought their confusions and demands for clarity to the forefront.
