LFT helps refurnish flooded schools

(November 1, 2016) While many still scramble to get their homes in order after the August flood, the Ascension parish school district is also dealing with wide spread damage.

You have all heard the saying, when one door opens, another one closes.  Well the NTU doesn’t accept that willingly. When one door opens and another one closes we stick our foot in the door jam and demand to know what’s going on in there.

NTU Update - October 28, 2016

Colleagues,

 1)      Respect the ContractNegotiations continue between NTU and NPS regarding our contract.  Things have been progressing well in many areas, though the process continues to be slow. Our next negotiations session is scheduled for next Thursday.  Hopefully, we will have some news to report out after that session.  Until then, continue to RESPECT THE CONTRACT!  Nothing more, nothing less!

Senior Concerns

Seniors worry about many things: some they have control over (like political elections) and some they do not. Seniors are the most reliable group of voters and politicians should be courting them and the things that matter to them like Social Security and Medicare.

I am very grateful that many of you have read the tentative agreement and are voicing your concerns for it! It is very important that we all make an informed decision that affects our employment at Victor Valley College.

Your Vote Matters

Elections can be close with only a few votes separating the winner from the loser, promoting progress or stopping it.... Voters can be complacent, ignoring their civic responsibility and change the outcomes of elections by their apathy. 

UNION MEMBERS ARE WELL INFORMED and WE VOTE

As Florida residents it is our obligation to cast our ballots in every election and this current election is definitely no exception.  The policy differences between the two major-party candidates could not be more striking.
