AAFMCC Adjunct Awareness Week

In order to increase visibility of adjunct instructors on campus and to highlight the important contribution adjuncts make to Macomb Community College’s educational community, the Association of Adjunct Faculty of Macomb Community College announces our first ever “Adjunct Awareness Week” to be held February 29 through March 6, 2016.

During Adjunct Awareness Week, we encourage you to join in solidarity with your colleagues by doing the following:

The agenda for the meetings will include the FTL bargaining platform and ratification, the March 11 elections, and the PTL pay issue.

RNs at Springfield

Registered Nurses (RNs) employed by Springfield State Hospital Center were denied the use of paid leave on the weekend of January 22, 2016 due to their essential employee status. The employees leave status was charged to code 86, unpaid, unexcused absence. On February 5, 2016 the employees contacted their Labor Relations Specialist, Michael Keeney for guidance and assistance. Mr. Keeney filed instant grievances on behalf of the RNs to ensure that their time frames were protected.
